Lexy Head was great on Monday, throwing a no-hitter in Lamar County Trojans Varsity’s 11-0 victory over Spalding .
No Spalding batter was able to locate Head’s pitches during the game. Head threw a no-hitter, striking out 12 batters and walking two while recording her momentous feat. She got Alford to strike out for the final out of the game.
Five runs in the opening three innings allowed Lamar County Trojans Varsity to easily put away Spalding . A solo home run by Cayla Bishop during the first inning and a groundout by Kayla Hinkley, an RBI double by Bishop, and a two-run double by Aishja Wilcher in the second inning helped Lamar County Trojans Varsity put some runs on the board early.
Bishop racked up four RBIs on four hits for Lamar County Trojans Varsity.
Risper couldn’t get it done on the rubber for Spalding , taking a loss. She allowed 11 runs in five innings, walked one and struck out none.
Lamar County Trojans Varsity added five more runs in the top of the fourth. The inning got off to a hot start when Hinkley doubled, plating Ja’Kyra Shannon. That was followed up by Bishop’s double, scoring Hinkley.
